Kyocera Tackles Energy at Annual Green Card Conference November 2008

TAckling The Energy debate at Kyocera's Green card Conference

Research carried out in 2008 by Kyocera showed that uncertainty over energy prices in both domestic and commercial markets is likely to be one of the key influencers on businesses efforts to reduce their environmental impacts. It’s a topic that concerns us all for financial and environmental reasons and the likely shape of the future energy markets was the topic for Kyocera’s eleventh Green Card event which took place at Reading Town Hall on the 25th of November 2008.

Speakers included Tristram Denton of the Nuclear Industry Association, who talked about the place of nuclear in a low-carbon energy policy.

Daniel Curtis of Oxford University talked about implementing Power Management at Oxford University.

Neeta Dalal of Semplice Energy will spoke on ‘Clean Technologies and the Benefits of a Hybridised Energy Solution’

John Gilbert Head of Carbon Management at Thames Water presented on how sewage can be used and generated into an alternative form of energy.

Delegates also had the opportunity to hear from Joe Baker of Barking & Dagenham Council who gave an insight into how the council has worked to reduce the carbon footprint of its residents
