The Carbon Trust Standard certifies organisations that have genuinely reduced their carbon footprint and committed to reducing it year on year. It is open to all organisations in the public and private sector.
The award is gained by providing evidence that energy consumption is being managed and reduced, either by self-assessment or with the support of an assessor. Cost depends on the energy bill of the organisation, starting at a very manageable £1,000.
Organisations who are covered by the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) can save money by achieving the Carbon Trust Standard. It is one of only two ‘early action’ measures – that increase an organisation's CRC league table position. Additional information can be found via the links on the right.
